Computer trading licence in Dubai

A computer trading licence in Dubai should cover the hardware the business sells and how it sells it. Repairs, installation, software resale and IT consulting should be reviewed separately. Confirm the activity combination and any product or import requirements before assuming a trading licence covers the whole service bundle.

In short
  • Separate hardware sales from repair and consultancy services.
  • Check product, import and supplier documentation.
  • Plan warranties, returns and inventory records.

What are you selling with the equipment?

A laptop sale might also include setup, software, delivery and a support contract. Explain those parts separately when discussing activities. If the business repairs equipment, sells refurbished stock or installs networks, include that detail from the beginning.

Use a sample customer quote to show the complete offer. The licensed scope should match the invoice and the work performed. A consultancy activity should not be assumed to permit hardware sales, or the other way round.

Follow the devices from supplier to customer

Confirm the source of the goods, importer, storage and delivery route. Review the relevant customs registration and ask whether the exact devices need product or telecommunications approvals. Requirements should be checked for the actual equipment rather than all electronics being treated alike.

Keep supplier invoices and records linking serial numbers to stock and sales where useful. This supports warranty handling and helps the company explain the goods it trades.

Decide who handles a faulty device

The customer should know who provides the warranty, how a return is requested and what happens to data on a device sent for repair. Agree the manufacturer, distributor and seller responsibilities before promising support you cannot deliver.

OfferScope to check
Hardware saleTrading activity, product evidence and warranty.
Repair or installationPermitted service activity and technical responsibilities.
Software bundleResale rights, subscriptions and account ownership.

Compare the physical business too

An online reseller with outsourced storage needs a different plan from a walk-in shop or workshop. Include premises, inventory, employees and delivery arrangements when comparing company routes.

For the bank, describe supplier countries, customer types and expected transaction sizes. Prepare documents that support the trading explanation. Account opening is subject to the bank’s review and should not be promised as part of a licence package.

Kompani Setup can help compare formation options around the equipment and services you plan to sell. Bring a short product list and sample quote so the activity review captures the complete business.

Quick answers

Still curious? An adviser can answer anything about your setup.

Ask an adviser
Does computer trading include repairs?

Confirm repairs and technical services separately with the licensing authority. Do not rely on the broad product category alone.

Can I sell software with hardware?

Check the appropriate activity combination and the software supplier’s resale terms. Record who owns and renews the customer’s subscription.
