Your First 90 Days After UAE Company Setup: A Short Checklist

After UAE incorporation, organise company records, banking, tax checks, any immigration work and your operating permissions. Use 90 days as a planning window, not a substitute for legal deadlines. Some obligations run from incorporation or another trigger and need attention much earlier.

In short
  • Assign a person and a real deadline to each post-setup task.
  • Keep banking, tax, licensing and immigration workstreams separate.
  • Establish bookkeeping and a renewal calendar before the paperwork builds up.

First, create one reliable company folder

Save the issued licence, incorporation papers, shareholder details, signing authority and official receipts. Keep identity documents secure and record which copy is current. Make a company details sheet so that contracts and applications use the same legal name and registration information.

Put each pending application in a tracker with an owner, the next action and its actual deadline. “Waiting for setup” is too broad once several institutions are involved.

Start the tax and record-keeping checks

Check corporate tax registration promptly and record the applicable deadline. Review VAT separately against the business’s actual supplies and forecasts. Arrange bookkeeping from the beginning, including funding and startup expenses before the first sale.

Check beneficial ownership records and any other requirements that apply to the company. Do not treat an adviser’s completed incorporation file as proof that every ongoing obligation has been covered.

Move banking and immigration forward separately

Prepare a consistent banking explanation with genuine ownership and funding evidence. If the company will sponsor anyone, confirm the relevant company file, allocation and applicant steps. Keep the expected bank decision separate from any visa timeline.

Make the business ready to serve customers

  • Check that contracts and invoices match the licensed activity.
  • Confirm any operating or product approvals before delivery.
  • Set up payment and accounting records suitable for the business.
  • Define who can sign contracts or approve spending.
  • Prepare the employment process before the first hire.

For example, an online retailer should include its fulfilment and product permissions in this tracker. A consultancy should include its service scope and client onboarding. They should not use an identical launch checklist just because both have a licence.

Review the file before the quarter ends

Check what remains incomplete, what has changed and which institution needs an update. Calendar the licence, premises, company-file and personal-document expiry dates separately. Ask for the expected renewal costs while the setup details are still fresh.

The aim is a business you can run with confidence. Use the cost checklist and support services to resolve specific gaps rather than buying another package without a clear task list.

Quick answers

Still curious? An adviser can answer anything about your setup.

Ask an adviser
Do I have 90 days to complete every UAE company requirement?

No. Ninety days is only a planning framework. Each registration, permission or record obligation has its own trigger and applicable deadline.

What should I organise immediately after incorporation?

Secure the final company documents, confirm tax and ownership-record obligations, assign deadlines and prepare banking or immigration applications where needed.
