What you need to know
The DIFC Courts Wills Service was the UAE’s first will registry for non-Muslims. It lets you leave your assets to the people you choose, in the shares you choose, instead of relying on default inheritance rules. It’s often the first choice for people who own property in Dubai.
There are different types of DIFC will, from a full will that covers your assets and guardianship of your children, to a will focused on property. Sources and practice differ on how far a DIFC will reaches beyond Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, so we confirm coverage for your specific assets before you register.

DIFC wills FAQs
Who can make a DIFC will?
Non-Muslims aged 21 and over, typically with assets in Dubai or Ras Al Khaimah, or with children living there.
Does a DIFC will cover property in Abu Dhabi?
Practice differs, so we check coverage for each asset. If most of your assets are in Abu Dhabi, an Abu Dhabi (ADJD) will may suit you better.
What types of DIFC will are there?
Options range from a full will covering assets and guardianship to wills focused on property. We recommend the right type for your situation.
Can I change my DIFC will later?
Yes. You can register a new will to replace it. It’s worth reviewing after marriage, a new child, or buying or selling property.
